It took a year of research for the California Design Center to complete the technical and artistic design work for the 2 + 2 HCD-3. Released at the 1995 Detroit Auto Show, the HCD-3 featured quickly adjustable ride height for on and off-road driving conditions. Located in the center of the instrument cluster, a computer-controlled Navitec system displayed driving directions while an advanced car audio system and safety equipment completed the concept car.
