Automotive News All-Star, Top Automotive CEO in Asia



(Seoul, Korea) – Hyundai Motor Company Chairman and CEO Chung Mong-Koo was named an Automotive News “All-Star,” as the top CEO of an Asian auto company, in the July 11th issue of the prestigious industry publication.


Chairman Chung’s leadership was praised by the magazine, which said:
“Hyundai sales are rising around the world, quality is among the best, and a U.S. plant is cranking out Sonata sedans. The industry is paying attention to the Korean giant.”

Eighteen top auto industry executives from a variety of disciplines were selected as All-Stars for their accomplishments over the past 12 months. The Automotive News All-Stars are the auto industry’s version of Major League Baseball’s All-Star team. Automotive News reporters and editors have selected the top executives in the industry since the first All-Stars were named in 1981. Choices are based on executives’ achievements from July 1, 2004, to June 30, 2005.

Chairman Chung joined an accomplished list of industry leaders, including Dieter Zetche, CEO, Chrysler Group who was named the top North American CEO and Hans-Olov Olsson, CEO, Volvo Car Corp., who was named the top European CEO.
