Business Week Names Hyundai Chairman Chung Mong-Koo Among Best Managers of 2004
(Seoul, Korea) The editors of Business Week picked Hyundai Motor Co. Chairman Chung Mong-Koo among the best managers of 2004. In the Jan. 10, 2005 edition of America’s leading business magazine, Chairman Chung was cited for his success in delivering world-class quality since taking over the helm in 1999.
In J.D. Power & Associates' 2004 survey of initial quality -- which counts complaints in the first 90 days of ownership – Hyundai Motor had virtually caught up with industry leaders from Japan. And Hyundai's Sonata was the top-ranked car in the "entry midsize" category.
Business Week also credited Chairman Chung for the company’s solid financial performance and successful expansion of operations in China and India.
