Jun 30, 2004 Hyundai Motor Europe June Sales up 18% Hyundai Motor Europe June Sales up 18% European sales at 30,750 units for the month of June Cumulative sales for 2004 reach 175,700 units, up 20 pct y-o-y (Rüsselsheim, Germany) – Today, Hyundai Motor Europe announced sales of 30,750 units in June, an 18 percent increase year on year. Under the impression of the UEFA EURO 2004 Hyundai experienced a sales increase of 21 percent for the period January till June 2004. Cumulative sales reached 175,700 units. With these results, Hyundai is firmly on track with its forecasted annual sales plan, outperforming the overall market. “The rapidly improving quality of Hyundai products as well as the stronger localization of their appeal factors such as design and packaging, are providing the momentum for continuous sales gains”, said Kwang Heum Um, President Hyundai Motor Europe. “In addition, June was the hot phase of our UEFA EURO 2004 related marketing and sponsoring activities. From these, we expect more effects on sales over the next weeks.” Best sellers for the month of June were again Getz with cumulative sales of 57,000 units and Santa Fe with 23,000 units (Jan. – June period). Current market share across Europe, including the new member countries, balances at around 2 percent.
