Sustainability is an essential element of Hyundai’s corporate behaviour and Hyundai’s suppliers are naturally expected to mirror the company’s efforts. When choosing to become part of a winning team suppliers dedicate themselves to fully meeting expectations of Hyundai’s stakeholders.
Hyundai has recently laid the cornerstones for establishing a green purchasing strategy by providing training on an environmental management system for over 450 individual suppliers in Korea.
The next step will involve redefining the company’s Five Star supplier evaluation system, as a means to fully implement the green strategy by 2008.
Consequently, the strategy will be implemented at all production sites and applied to all supplier agreements, also in Europe.
